Distance: 4.9 miles over two and a half laps
Transport/Parking: The map below shows the location of Oxshott Woods together with Oxshott train station which is a 2 minute walk away. It is easiest to arrive by train. There is (paid - RingGo 2033, £3.90) car parking at the train station as well as at a couple of (free) public car parks surrounding the woods within 10-15 minutes walk.
Course: The race start/finish is in a clearing by the main path approximately 100m from the station. The course is identical to 2023-24 (but slightly changed from 2022-23). The new start goes directly uphill then joins the standard route round for a half-lap followed by two full laps. The route will be marked with flags/signs/tape and there will be marshals at key junctions.
Recommended footwear will be fell shoes/spikes (or shoes with very good off-road grip). There is a short sharp hill as well as longer technical climbs and some descents requiring care. The terrain is uneven and there are plenty of roots and trip hazards underfoot. We will be sharing the woods with the public and the terms of our license require us to respect fellow users and take care as appropriate.
Changing/toilets: Portaloos will be available opposite Oxshott Station ticket office. Please note there are no changing facilities within the park.
Numbers/Declaration sheets: All declarations are to be made online at www.surreyleague.org. Race numbers have already been allocated to clubs at the previous fixture and athletes are to wear the same number for each of the four Surrey league matches. Please ensure that club pages on the Surrey League website are maintained and show the correct number for each athlete.
Results schedule: Provisional results will be compiled following the race and will be posted on the Surrey League website on Saturday evening. These will be provisional and subject to change. Final results will be updated accordingly on the website.
