RACE TIMES AND COURSES

The races will follow familiar courses. Young Athletes will start close to the Finish area. Seniors, both Men and Women will start at the Lewisham end of the park near the car park. There will be a funfair close to point K and courses may have to be adjusted slightly once we know exactly where it has set up. The courses are pretty open parkland but with some unrelenting uphill drags. Unless there is heavy rain in the next few days, ground conditions should be good.

 Race 1 U13 races

Boys (12:30) and Girls (12:35) 1.8 miles / 2.9k - 1 short lap. Start is just before the finish and then goes on the main lap. It misses the loop to the north towards the car park from point J thro K & B. At J they will turn LEFT through B & C to the Finish.

 Race 2 U15/U17 races Males (13:00) and Females (13:05)

2.0 miles / 3.2k 1 medium lap starting close to the finish area. Start is the same as the U13 races but with 1 medium lap. When they reach point J the lap continues through points K & B then through C to the Finish.

Race 3 Senior Women (14:00) 3.75 miles, approx. 6k Starting at A then 2 short laps. Same start as the Men’s race at A. The course runs through B and C and follows 2 laps of the course used in Race 1.

Race 4 Senior Men (15:00) 4.9 miles c.7.9k. Two large laps Starting at A the course descends through B and C then two circuits of the large lap and into the Finish.

Travel by car:  There is a small car park in Beckenham Place Park but you are strongly advised NOT to use it, as it gets quite crowded, costs you a lot and will be difficult to get out of. The Lewisham side of the park is very restricted and you will be lucky to find anywhere to park on that side of the park but there are plenty of free parking slots on the Beckenham side of the park which are very close to the finish area.Roads such as  Worsley Bridge Road are pretty free of parked cars, are free to use and are only 400 m from the finish area.

Train travel:

This is by far the easiest way to travel - get to Beckenham Junction station and it is less than 1/2 mile to the finish area via Southend Road and then the road called Beckenham Place Park. This brings you directly to the finish area.

FIRST AID Will be on site from 12:00 to 16:00 and based close to the finish.

TOILETS AND REFRESHMENTS

Toilets can be found close to point A near the start of the senior races and about 500 meters from the finish. There is a café at the same place and another at the mansion.

TENTS AND FLAGS Can be erected in the usual place near the Finish but AVOID putting them on the running line
