Young athletes - 330pm

Men's race - 4pm.

2. LOCATION OF RACE HQ AND TRAVEL

Race HQ and the start/finish is inside Richmond Park on the edge of Sidmouth Wood, 5min walk from Pembroke Lodge (TW10 5HX) and Richmond Gate. The same location as recent years' Ranelagh men's Surrey League races.

Cars:The race time has been changed at the park authorities' requestbecause of a wedding at Pembroke Lodge so that guests can find parkingspaces before runners. Particularly if nice weather, and given thewedding, Pembroke Lodge car park may have few or no spaces. Sheen Gate carpark is about 2km from the start and usually quieter.Roehampton Gate carpark is a bit further but quite big. There is alarge NCP carpark near the train station in Richmond. The park gatesclose to cars at 6pm that day.Under no circumstances should cars be left anywhere in the park exceptin designated carparks.

Walking, public transport or cycling:Richmond station is 1.7 miles away. It's a nice walk or run. Or bus371 takes you from Richmond station to Richmond Gate, about 5min fromthe start. There are cycle racks at Pembroke Lodge inside the park.Toilets in the park near Richmond Gate, Ham Gate and Sheen gate have20p charges. Toilets near Pembroke Lodge are free. The tea rooms at Pembroke Lodge will be open until 530pm for anyone forgetting their post race malt loaf or protein shake.

3. COURSE MAP AND CONDITIONS

The young athletes course will be a single 2.8 mile loop of our usualSurrey League course, map linked below. The men's course will be twolaps. http://www.ranelagh-harriers.com/slrp_map.html Rainfall permitting, the course is usually quite dry and a bit stonyin some sections, with a short stretch of Tarmac. A section of tracknear the pen ponds (big ponds just over half way through the lap) hasbeen resurfaced and is likely to be a bit uncomfortable for spikes.Short spikes are usually sufficient. We don't have rights over other park users, including dog walkers, horse riders etc. - please ask your runners to respect them. Please also watch out for tree roots and any other hazards, like the stags, who are a bit frisky right now.

4. NUMBERS, DECLARATIONS AND RESULTS

Numbers will be available for collection on the day near the startfrom a race official. For the senior and young athletes races we will require PAPER DECLARATIONS to support the way we plan to produce the results. Forboth senior and young athletes, please be VERY clear about age groups. We cannot score young athletes races without these.

We would welcome ONLINE declarations in addition for the senior raceif you are able. We hope to have an online option for young athleteslater this season. We hope you enjoy the first race in what promises to be another epic Surrey League season.

Feedback welcome as always. Any questions please email philipkillingley@yahoo.co.uk and copy in Andy.bickerstaff@goodrunguide.co.uk
